A Tory councillor has refused to apologise after being accused of politicising the tragic death of Labour MP Jo Cox to smear political opponents.

Howard Jones – a Conservative councillor on Mole Valley District Council – hurriedly deleted a tweet claiming “extraordinary numbers” of Corbyn supporters were “slagging off” murdered mother-of-two Jo Cox:

Despite being asked to do so, Jones has steadfastly refused to apologise for his unsubstantiated comments.

Cllr Jones’s disrespectful tweet comes not long after another Tory cllr was suspended from the party after posting on Facebook that he had donated the “steam off my piss” to Jo Cox’s memorial fund.
